Qi Pao (chee’-pow) were originally designed as a baggy dress covering most of a woman’s body. With time, however, it was tailored to be more form fitting. The modern version was first developed in Shanghai around 1900. It is now a slender fitting dress with a high slit on the side, accentuating the figures of women. As such, the Qi pao is highly popular as a dress for high society.

Cheongsam (cheé-ong sahm) were formal dresses for Chinese men before the modern, Western-style suits became more popular in China. These days cheongsam are typically worn for all kinds of occasions, such as traditional celebrations or high class functions. The Cheongsam can portray a unique East Asian modernity when paired with a western overcoat.

Kimonos are traditional garments worn by Japanese men, women and children. They are T-shaped robes wrapped around the body, with the right side wrapped first. The robes are secured by a sash called an Obi, and are tied on the back.

Here at WAHSSIE, there is no distinction between boys’ and girls’ Asian style dresses. If you like it, it’s for you. These Asian outfits will have your furry friend dressing in a fashion of complex and age-old beauty which is sure to draw the attention they deserve.
